A Kentucky Wedding

Tye + Emily

Tye and Emily’s summer Kentucky wedding was one for the books. After 7 years and 3 days of dating, Emily finally got to marry the man of her dreams! We booked Tye and Emily’s wedding last year, and we could not wait to celebrate their beautiful day.

There were so many moments throughout Tye and Emily’s Kentucky wedding day that made me stop and think “This is why I love my job.” From Emily’s first looks with her dad, mother-in-law, the bridesmaids and groomsmen to the traditions of love, laughter and family, I was so filled with joy to finally witness the joining of these two soulmates. Their entire day was filled with so many inspiring moments to me as a mother of young girls. I hope that one day I get the privilege to laugh, pray, and celebrate with Kylie and Libby the way that Daniel and Rita did for Emily on Saturday. As a mom to young girls, I cherish weddings from a new perspective now. I can only imagine that watching your child marry someone who you have prayed for their entire lives is emotional, rewarding and yet surreal.

Tye and Emily’s summer Kentucky wedding was nothing short of a fairytale. Surrounded by family and friends, Tye and Emily were married at a small church in Henderson, Kentucky. Emily’s father walked her down the aisle and officiated the wedding. He even pulled out a few inside jokes that had Tye, his bride, and the attendees laughing. Emily wore a gorgeous dress with tons of sparkle and detail, that stunned Tye as she walked down the aisle. A tiara fit for a princess adorned her head. She also had THE BEST Converse shoes that she spent over 48 hours detailing with rhinestones herself.

After the ceremony, we headed out to grab a few portraits while guest went into the reception hall. The two opted for breakfast as their reception food, and OMG it was AMAZING. They literally had everything for breakfast you can think of, even the most amazing donut wall! Then came time for the dancing, and let me tell ya, these two can break it down!

I hope you enjoy scrolling through a glimpse of their wedding day. The day was absolutely gorgeous. Tye and Emily, it was an honor being your photographer and I am beyond blessed that you entrusted me to capture your special day. It’s so much more than photographs, its your love story!
