Have you wondered what your engagement session with dogs would looks like? Emily and Tye’s engagement session was one of my absolute favorites! We had planned for a fall engagement session at Audubon Park in Henderson KY. Emily sent a few poses that she saw on Pinterest and I just knew this was already going to be an amazing session. The day of their session, Emily sent me a message and asked if they could bring their dogs. You know what my initial and ONLY response was… well YES! When your pets are family members, they should be included in the moments that matter most.
When we arrived at Audubon Park in Henderson, KY Emily & Tye got the 2 cutest dogs out of the car! Their names had me stunned even more! Meet Gaston and Belle. Now, my entire family is Disney obsessed so I am already in love. But what got me excited even more was that Emily immediately said, “Don’t worry, he’s much more behaved than Gaston in the movie.” I couldn’t help but laugh because we all know Gaston is the villian, and Belle does not end up with him.
Gaston and Belle were very well behaved. Immediately we thought we’d try a few poses with Emil and Tye holding them to see how they would act. The loved the attention and treats they got.
We then thought we’d try to put Gaston and Belle on their leashes and see if they would stand there. One thing I have learned about taking pictures with pets, it doesn’t ALWAYS go as planned. Gaston and Belle saw leashes as a “hey lets go on a run.” None the less, this was still one of our favorite pictures because it displays the REAL. If you know my photography style you know that’s one thing I always want to capture.
Since Gaston and Belle seemed to be done with pictures, Emily, Tye and I decided that we’d do the rest of the engagement pictures without their furry companions. Let me just tell you, they killed their engagement session.
All in all, we had the best time and I cannot wait to photograph Emily & Tye’s wedding. We were able to get a few great photographs including their dogs, while also focusing on them.
If you have furry friends that are more like family members. Always ask your photographer to bring them along!
